Directions to the Nature Preserve
Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265) north until it dead ends into US 42. Turn right and follow 5.5 miles east to the traffic light at Hwy. 1793. Continue east on US 42 past Highway 1793 0.5 miles and turn left on Harmony Landing Road. Follow 0.3 miles back to the Nature Preserve and volunteers will direct you to the unloading/parking areas. Our traffic flow is restricted to one way into the Nature Preserve.
We will restrict the traffic flow to one way into the Nature Preserve. The entry into the Nature Preserve is through the city of Goshen. DO NOT TRY TO ENTER THE NATURE PRESERVE FROM HWY 1793. PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR PARENTS. Please be respectful of the speed limit (20 mph) and all stop signs. This is a heavily populated neighborhood, with lots of children. The speed limit and stop signs are there for the safety of everyone. Police may be present and they will issue citations for speeding and rolling stops, so please warn your parents and fans. Exiting traffic is to KY 1793.
Handicapped parking is available. Please alert the parking attendants of any special parking requirements.
Additional parking will be available at North Oldham High School, 1815 S. Highway 1793. We will provide shuttle buses between 12:00 and 4:30 pm, or until the elementary awards are completed, leaving approximately every 15 minutes. Buses will pickup/drop-off from the baseball field at NOHS and at the library parking lot at the Nature Preserve. The library is at the bottom of the hill past the finish area and Nature Center.
With the size of the field this year, it is strongly recommended that you carpool and, for later races, utilize the shuttle buses. If it is raining, we could lose some parking spots in the grass at the Preserve, so shuttles would be even more recommended.
Inclement Weather Plan
If it rains on meet day, we will run in the rain. However, if we have a lightning delay we will direct everybody to cars and buses until it is safe to resume. In this case, our restart plans will be announced via the Twitter handle @NorthRumble, so you can follow that account for updates, and pass to your parents so that they can be informed as well. By rule, we cannot resume competition until 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder. If the meet is delayed, we will make every effort to get all the races in.
Admission Fee
There will be a $5 admission fee for spectators, with a family maximum of $15. Children 5-under will be free. There will be three admission gates. Please let your runners’ parents know ahead of time.
Spectator/Coaching Limitations
We cannot allow spectators in the woods of the Rumble course. The course is narrow in several places, and a few areas of the course get congested with spectators and kids who were not respectful of the runners and coaches. We will issue armbands in the Coach’s Packets. Each team will receive 2 armbands. You must have an armband in order to be allowed into the woods. If you need more than 2 armbands, please see the registration table. Stay out of the Woodland Gardens on the left side of Mahan Lane. The right side is open for coaches. We will also have another path through the woods open to the left of the starting area. Please use ONLY these two paths to get back into the woods and respect the other trails that will be blocked with caution tape or snow fence.
Coaches and spectators are not allowed in the finish corral. Please wait for your runner to exit the corral. We will have a trainer and EMS on-site to handle any issues at the finish area, and the presence of coaches and spectators will just slow them down. We WILL take care of your runners, so please let the professionals do their job. Please pass this along to your parents.
