Fun Event Under the Lights!
All invited athletes will need to submit a completed Field Trip Permission Slip (distributed Friday). Athletes will also pay $50 to offset the cost of transportation, hotel, and King’s Island ticket. That said, athletes have earned the right to attend this trip by participating throughout the summer and we do not want cost to deter anyone from participation. If the cost is a hardship please speak to Coach Horan. We would like all permission forms and fees returned by Wednesday 8/24.
The team will cover dinner on Friday night at the meet (*pizza) and breakfast buffet at the Hotel on Saturday. Athletes should bring some food for a pre-race afternoon snack (perhaps even a light meal) since the races are so late. Athletes will also need money for lunch / snacks at King’s Island on Saturday (I was told that cash is not accepted at most park restaurants). Athletes may want additional spending money for event t-shirts or any extras at King’s Island.
*If you have any dietary restrictions we should be aware of please communicate to Coach Horan.
We will spend very little time at the hotel aside from sleeping. Athletes should refrain from bringing anything on the trip that might be distracting or disruptive to the team’s purpose. We will set a drop-off location for bags on Friday morning.

Note: In early season meets our team philosophy is not to always “load up” our varsity line-up, but to assign athletes to developmentally appropriate races where they can hone their racing skills. We will typically use this strategy through the Rumble through the Jungle meet, after which we will usually race the best varsity team we have.
